1. Solar Without Battery
- Daytime: Your home uses solar energy directly. Any excess energy is exported to the TNB grid.
- Nighttime: Your home pulls electricity from the TNB grid (Import).
- Monthly Billing: TNB offsets your export against your consumption based on the Energy Charge of RM 0.2703 (approximately a 1:0.7 offset ratio).
2. Solar With Battery (BESS)
Recommended for households with bills over RM 500 or high daytime consumption.
- Daytime Storage: Your inverter is connected to a battery. Excess solar energy is stored in the battery first. Once the battery reaches full capacity, any remaining energy is exported to TNB.
- Nighttime Usage: Electricity is discharged from the battery to power your home first. Only after the battery is completely depleted will the system begin importing power from TNB.
- Power Outages: During a blackout, the system automatically supplies power to your connected critical loads (e.g., Wi-Fi, refrigerator, fish pump).
